OUR VISION
Galyan Law is the vision of founder Ani Galyan, where she specializes in serving clients in local, state, federal, and international tax matters. Ms. Galyan is an attorney licensed to practice in California. In addition, Ms. Galyan is a Certified Public Accountant in State of California.
The goal of Galyan Law is to assist clients in navigating the complex U.S. tax laws with ease and simplicity. As a tax specialist, Ms. Galyan aims to provide individualized service to each client to make the process of dealing with U.S. tax matters as simple as possible by taking the frustration out of the situation. Clients are given individualized attention for each matter at hand.
Previous to starting Galyan Law, Ms. Galyan served clients in U.S. tax compliance matters relating to issues of offshore foreign financial accounts and asset disclosure. She continues to advise U.S. taxpayers and expatriates regarding U.S. income tax and Bank Secrecy compliance.
Ms. Galyan has been in the forefront of representing California cannabis industry in all levels of tax matters ranging from local, state, and federal issues. She regular speaks and writes on topics of tax matters for the cannabis industry. She is involved with various committees in the State of California relating to cannabis industry taxing and banking. Clients look to her to assist in navigating and complying with the ever changing laws relating to taxing of cannabis in California.
Ani Galyan, Esq, CPA, LL.M
Ani Galyan is an attorney and is a certified tax specialist by the State Bar of California. In addition, Ani is a certified public accountant admitted to practice in California. She also holds a Masters in Tax Law (LL.M). Ani focuses her practice in the area of tax law for federal, state and local tax compliance, tax disputes, and tax crimes. Additional, she focuses part of her practice on tax matters for the cannabis industry in California. She has advised clients on cryptocurrency reporting obligations and navigating the complex reporting requirements for cryptocurrency investors.
Typical clients include U.S. taxpayers disputes with the IRS and state taxing authorities, and voluntary disclosure (known as "tax amnesty") for both offshore and domestic assets and income. She has assisted international taxpayers on U.S. information reporting obligations. Ani has represented taxpayers in tax civil examinations with indication of fraud and criminal exposure bringing the cases to a closure without fraud penalties or Criminal Investigation referral.
Ani previously served on the Board of Directors for California CPA Society-Los Angeles Chapter, and co-chair of the Beverly Hills/Hollywood CalCPA Discussion Group. She is a founding member of Armenian American CPA Society. Ani is a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and other organizations relating to the field of taxation and banking.
Ani was recognized as Southern California Lawyers "Rising Star" in 2016 through 2022. She was a CalCPA Women to Watch Nominee finalist in 2015 and 2017.
Prior to starting Galyan Law, Ani gained expertise in the area of international taxation with a boutique tax firm in Los Angeles. She has experience as a Graduate Student Assistant with the State Board of Equalization’s Appeals Division. where she drafted Decision and Recommendation on sales tax matters.
Ani obtained a B.S. degree in 2005 from USC in Accounting, a JD, Cum Laude, from Loyola Law School in 2012 and an LLM with Highest Distinction from Loyola Law School in 2012.
